When we first heard about the event a few months ago, we said Imak Advice would like to support Sculpture OnShore’s School Tours Programme. We committed to funding a Decile 1 school, Onepoto on the North Shore, to attend the iconic event.
Investing in the future is important to everyone at Imak. And, we saw a special opportunity to invest in tamariki, giving them opportunities to open their minds and see a world full of potential.
Sculpture OnShore has a huge positive impact. The event is organised by the ‘Friends of Women’s Refuges Trust’, with all proceeds going to Women’s Refuge NZ. That’s something we think deserves support.
Lockdowns have meant a big change in plans for the event. But the organisers have quickly adapted to take it online. Now, people from anywhere in New Zealand can visit the new, purpose-built platform to view and purchase more than 200 spectacular works. Spread the word!
The online site also calls for Kiwis to support women and children fleeing domestic violence by donating to the Women’s Refuge Give-a-Little campaign. This year, donations will go towards ‘Kids in the Middle’. This initiative gives safe, comforting and creative spaces for children staying in each of the Refuge’s 40 safe houses.
Imak remains committed to supporting Onepoto School, especially once things get back to normal. In the meantime, we’re helping them out with funding for art supplies and learning resources.
We urge you to go and see the wonderful art online – absolutely free.
You’ll be able to view everything that would have been exhibited, but you don’t have to plan around the weather. Best of all, if you see something you like, you can make it yours!
As you take a moment to enjoy this incredible art online, please spare a thought for those women and children fleeing domestic violence. Lockdown has amplified stress for some of our most vulnerable families. You can help them and ensure they have a chance to find safety by donating to their Woman’s Refuge Give-a-Little campaign.
