A few weeks ago Imak obtained one of the first full Financial Advice Provider Licences awarded under new regulation. The regulations give Kiwis more transparency and protection when they’re seeking advice. We’ve always been about being upfront and straight-talking, so having one of the first licences is fitting.
We considered the new regulations as a great thing for New Zealanders seeking advice. The changes help clients get transparency around advice and they give protections that were not available before 15 March 2021.
As GM, I’m so proud of our team. I know Imak advisers have always been committed to delivering clear, upfront advice and gaining one of the first licences helps show this. We always ensure that every adviser has the appropriate competence, knowledge and skill before they sit down to help people.
As Stewart says, people can now expect even higher standards from advisers. They should see advice that is suitable, understandable and delivered with integrity and in a fair manner. Upfront, straight-talking advice matters.
